Virtual phone numbers

A Virtual number is so called because it isn't associated with or assigned to a physical phone line; rather, when someone dials the number their call is forwarded on to another destination chosen by its owner. The owner has the ability at any time to change the destination to which the calls are delivered by using a web portal to revise the settings.

For example, a company located in London could have a phone number in Edinburgh: when the 0131 number is dialled, the network forwards that call to their real phone number in London.

Virtual Phone Numbers are very popular among Call Centres which are physically located in one region but work in another. Virtual phone numbers are also popular with companies who move away from their original area and wish to retain their existing number but are otherwise unable to do so, and even for individuals.

The user can easily set the Virtual Phone Number to forward calls to different telephone numbers (both landlines and mobile phones) depending on his or her preference. For example, on work days incoming calls can be set to be forwarded to one's workplace, but on weekends to one's mobile phone.

Channel Telecom can supply low cost virtual phone numbers from any UK area code except 0207 and 0208 (these have run out of numbers). Please contact us if you wish to know more.
